About

Project Overview

OEC Power & Control delivered the detailed design of the complete electrical and control systems for a new offshore support vessel with hybrid diesel-electric propulsion. The system combines conventional diesel generators and batteries to reduce emissions and fuel consumption.

Scope of Work:

  • Hybrid system allowing battery-assisted operation and peak shaving
  • Design of MV and LV power distribution networks
  • Power management system (PMS) and integrated vessel automation
  • Detailed design for MCCs, transformers, switchgear, and cable routing
  • Compliance with marine class society requirements

Key Design Elements:

  • Hybrid system allowing battery-assisted operation and peak shaving
  • Redundant power supply and fail-safe design
  • Shore power integration for port operations
  • Load analysis and dynamic simulation for system optimisation
